Family counselling supports families in strengthening relationships and fostering a positive, supportive home environment. Sessions focus on improving communication, addressing discipline concerns, and supporting children and adolescents in managing emotions and behaviour effectively.
Sessions are grounded in Family Systems Therapy, a therapeutic approach that understands individual challenges within the context of the family unit. This model emphasizes how changes in one family member affect the entire system and works to improve patterns of interaction, connection, and understanding.
Blended families often face unique challenges, including integrating different family traditions, values, and parenting styles. Counselling provides guidance and support in navigating these complexities, helping families build stability, strengthen relationships, and create a sense of belonging where all members feel valued and supported.
Adoption can be a deeply rewarding experience while also presenting unique emotional and relational challenges. Families may encounter difficulties as children adjust to a new environment, particularly when there is a history of trauma, loss, or attachment concerns. Counselling focuses on fostering understanding, strengthening attachment, and creating a safe, nurturing family dynamic for all members.
Parent consultations offer practical tools and strategies to support effective and compassionate parenting. Rooted in positive parenting principles, these sessions help parents understand developmental stages, strengthen parent-child relationships, and implement constructive approaches to behaviour management. This often leads to improved communication, increased cooperation, and reduced conflict within the home.
Sessions are $200 per 60 minutes. Services are eligible for coverage through most extended health insurance plans.
